Gentle/Chair Yoga

A class for beginners or those seeking a slower paced practice, the not so flexible, and for those of us with a little extra ‘fluff’. You have the choice of using a mat or a chair, or a combination of the two. Getting up & down on a mat is not required or very limited. Gentle/Chair Yoga helps to make the poses work for your body. We use lots of ‘helpers’ (for example: blocks, pillows, chairs) We focus on what works best for your body! Learn proper alignment for your body, with lots of breathing and stretching. Most leave feeling calm, peaceful and relaxed.

Mixed Level Yoga
A more challenging, moderately paced class that builds on the strength you developed in Gentle/Chair classes. This class has more challenging poses, holds poses longer, combines poses, and some new pose variations. Continuing to building strength while respecting our body’s personal limitations. Each class is a little different, with plenty of breathing, stretching, toning leaving you with a peaceful and relaxed feeling.

Any Questions!

Yoga helps to promotes healthy joints, increases strength, balance, flexibility and breath efficiency.  It helps to reduce stress and improve mental focus. It is a reflective practice that develops self-discipline.

Yes, we would recommend the Gental/Chair Yoga class where we use a lot of helpers/props for our bodies. Poses can be adjusted to meet your body where it is today.  Yoga is about working with our breath and body together.

If you are new to yoga, two classes a week is a good place to start.  Within a few weeks as your body gets stronger, begin to increase your practice to what your schedule allows for.

Yoga uses your own body weight to help build muscle and bones. All yoga poses help to build core and tone. Consistent practice partnered with healthy eating can definitely help to tone the body.
